Eligibility Criteria for Spain Seasonal Work Visas

You must fulfill the following requirements to apply for a Spain Seasonal Work Visa. 

  • You must have a valid job offer from a company registered in Spain.
  • If you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, you must provide proof of your business plan in Spain. 
  • You must have a work authorisation visa. Your employer can obtain this on your behalf. 
  • You must provide proof of appropriate accommodation, which your employer has arranged for you. 
  • You must have the money to support your stay and cover the cost of travelling to and from Spain. 
  • You must prove your intent to leave when your visa expires.

Which Documents Do You Need to Apply for a Spain Seasonal Work Visa?

The following is a checklist of the documents required to apply for a seasonal work visa.

  1. National visa application form – you must complete all the fields on this form.
  2. Photograph – you must provide a recent coloured passport-size photograph during your application.
  3. Valid passport – your passport must not be older than 10 years. It must have two blank pages. 
  4. Autorización De Residencia y Trabajo por Cuenta Ajena – this is the authorisation to live and work in Spain. Ensure you start the application within a month after your employer gets approval to hire you.
  5. Work contract – you must provide proof of employment by a Spanish company.
  6. Criminal record certificate – you must provide a background check not older than three months, verified by police and the local Spanish embassy.
  7. Medical certificate – you must present a certificate of medical inspection from a licensed doctor. It must not be older than three months.
  8. Proof of residence – you must prove you live legally in the country from which you’re applying.

Application Process for a Spain Seasonal Work Visa

Step 1: Employer Obtains Work Authorisation Visa

Before you start your application, your employer must obtain a work authorisation visa on your behalf. They can do this by contacting the Provincial Alien Affairs Office. When your employer gets approval, you will automatically receive a residence permit.

Step 2: Start Your Application

Prepare the documents needed before starting your application at the nearest Spanish embassy. If you’re already in Spain, you must visit the local immigration offices to apply for the seasonal work visa.

Once you complete the forms, pay the visa fee. The embassy might subject you to an interview if your application lacks some information. 

Step 3: Wait for a Decision

It takes a month to process visa applications. However, you might wait longer if you need to attend an interview.

If successful, you must travel to Spain within six months. You can also appeal for declined applications.
