The France Seasonal Worker Visa is a permit that allows non-EU nationals to work in the country for 3-6 six months in a 12-month period. When approved, the holder can work in France for three years, after which they can request for renewal.

Employers who wish to hire seasonal workers must sponsor them. This means they have to offer valid job contracts to prospective employees and obtain authorization from relevant authorities before they apply for the visa.

Eligibility and Requirements for France Seasonal Worker Visa

If you want to hire seasonal workers, your business must meet the following criteria.

Work Authorization

You must obtain a work authorization permit showing you want to employ an overseas worker. These permits are available online. When applying, you must describe the intended role of your prospective employee and the need to source them from foreign countries.

Proof of Trying to Hire Locals

Before you are permitted to hire foreigners, you must prove that you tried to hire locals or workers from other EU countries without success. 

SIREN Number

The SIREN number is a unique registration given to businesses in France. Presenting it shows that your company exists and operates legally. 

Proof of Tax Payment

You must prove that your business pays taxes to get work authorization.

Social Contributions

You must prove that you regularly pay social security for your existing employees.

Eligibility and Requirement for the Seasonal Worker

If you’re are individual looking to apply for a France Seasonal Work Visa, here are the requirements.

A Valid Job Offer

You must prove you have a valid job from a company or business in France. The offer must be at least three months long and ad not longer than six months. It’s worth noting that the length of your job contact depends on the approval by the French Embassy. 

Non-EU National

You must be a non-EU national to get the France Seasonal Work Visa. 

A Valid Passport

You must prove your nationality by presenting a valid passport. It must have two blank pages and be valid for at least three months after your visa expires. 

Age

You must be at least eighteen years old to work in France. 

Qualification

You must prove that you have the qualifications to work the job being offered. This particularly applies to professions like lifeguards, ski instructors, and chefs. 

Medical Insurance Policy

You must prove that you have a medical insurance policy worth at least EUR 30,000. It should be valid in all EU countries. 

Proof of Subsistence

You must prove to the Embassy that you have enough money to cater for your needs while staying in France. If your employer is sponsoring you, you will not need this. 

Criminal Record Certificate

You must prove that you do not have any pending cases or convictions in your country of residence before moving to France. 

Accommodation in France

You must have accommodation in France before getting a seasonal work visa. This can be a bought property, hotel room, rented room, or an invitation from a friend or family.
